At $30 or $40 a title, computer books are an expensive medium considering their short shelf life. So you might want to check out ZDNet's Instantbooks.com, which offers unlimited access to many virtual editions of computer and Internet titles for a fairly reasonable monthly or annual fee. You view the books online and store them on a virtual bookshelf. No dusting required. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HEARD ON THE BOARDS: Workaholic Needs to Learn How to Turn It Off Monster member Sarah recently asked: I work from home and sell over the Internet via auctions. The most difficult thing is allocating time and knowing when to start and stop. There is no one praising me or telling me to go home, so I keep going and get exhausted. How do you separate home life from work life? The Free Agent Advisor answers: Establish start and stop times for your work, and stick to them. Set an alarm to go off when your workday should end. When it rings, finish the immediate task at hand and then shut down your computer. The urge to turn the machine back on and do a bit more work may be very strong at first, but it will subside.
